Tyler is Here!

This is Tyler.

She's the newest therapist on the Boca Child Counseling team.

She is fantabulous.

Tyler has a cornucopia of skills and experience. She's no one-size-fits-all kinda person. She speaks a couple of languages (Portuguese and French) and she's lived in a couple of different states and countries. She's a fantastic writer. She has worked in private practices and medical settings. She said she bakes croissants; in all transparency... I've seen no proof of this (yet), but she's not really a liar and the french connection suggests the croissants could be on-point.

I've noticed she is consistently drawn to helping people who are deeply afraid... and I suspect she may be very good at this. She is especially good at helping humans whose brains stay stuck in loops of fear (OCD) because she's adept at the gold-standard of treatment protocols for this (ERP). Scared people love Tyler.

Tyler makes sense for Boca Child Counseling because she's smart and funny (amongst other things). She notices the subtleties and is in-tune with shifts in nuance; this allows her to move her attention quickly toward the Important Things and away from the Not Important Things. Her ability to attune to others, seemingly effortlessly, is really exciting, as I think the kids and families in our neighborhood will feel comforted and inspired by her Way of Being. Also, she's funny. I can't say enough about this. Having the option to laugh with your therapist, because your therapist "just gets you" AND IS FUNNY, is the stuff that makes Hard Therapy do-able.

Working with Tyler means having a therapist who is intellectually and emotionally agile enough to move through your healing journey with your family, regardless of the downs or ups or curves or loop-de-loops.
